David and Molly met in 2011 while working at a local restaurant. A few years later, they exchanged wedding vows on a little farm in Rockford. David graduated from the University of Tennessee and works in healthcare consulting. Molly holds a far more challenging role as CEO of the Johnson household and full-time mama bear to their three children: Mason, Ezra, and Magnolia.
David was raised in Knoxville on the buckle of the Bible Belt and actively attended church from a young age. His journey as an apprentice of Jesus began in middle school. A south Floridian, Molly also grew up in church and accepted Christ early in life.
The Johnsons share a heart for parenthood and children, particularly those in minority and at-risk communities. They have experienced hurt in their respective Christian upbringings that has materialized in empathy for the outsider, those who question and challenge the institution of church. Their mission is to operate in love, aligning with the heart of Jesus to be effective disciples in His service at the direction of His Word.
